Flip Flopping: GOP-stuff-that-really-matter stylie.

Bush was against the 9-11 commission before he was for it. (Flip-flop!) Bush was against giving them mounds of pertinent evidence before he was for it. (Flip-flop!) Bush was against the commission finishing its work before the election until he was for it. (Flip-flop!) Bush was against the commission extending its deadline (necessary because Bush had dragged his feet in cooperating) before he was for it. (Flip-flop!) Bush was against testifying before he was for it. (Flip-flop! Though he remained firm on being too afraid to testify alone.) Bush was against Condi testifying before he was for it. (Flip-flop!) Bush was opposed to an intelligence czar before he was for it. (Flip-flop!) And now Bush was opposed to an intelligence czar with any budgetary authority before he was for THAT. (Flip-flop!)

Don't forget GWB Campaign 2000 statements (paraphrased):
1. We cannot be arrogant in our foreign policy...
2. We will not try to engage in nation-building...

These are not only 'flip-flops', they were flat-put lies. RNC 2004 Campaign Slogan should be 'Say Anything'

Not to mention inviting the king of all flip-floppers to be the keynote speaker at their convention, Zel Miller. It's not that they don't like so-called "flip-floppers". It's that they don't like people with differing opinions. The same is true of "activist judges". That's a bogus term. The most activist judge of all - the 10 commandments judge - (I forget his name) - is their hero. So again, the term is disingenuous. They really just dislike judges with progressive social views. It seems to me that the far right is really good at name calling. That motivates me more than ever to vote for Kerry.

Kerry certainly doesn't flip flop on things that matter to him like killing defenseless babies. He's consistently voted for all legislation supporting abortion in any form as late as you want it.

I'm always amazed by people's ignorance of Roe v. Wade. Love it or hate it, it says some very specific things. I'd wager that 99.9% of knee-jerk pro-lifers have absolutely no idea what the holding of Roe is, and why the court arrived at that result.

If only they'd bother to read it.
