The team has agreed to forgo a portion of that payment this year, although they are not saying exactly how much, and the money will eventually have to be paid, but without an interest penalty.With respect, a PR coup for the Bills would be to let the county (and, therefore, the people of Erie County) off the hook for this payment for a year. Or two. This kind of vague statement doesn't fill me with civic pride and love for that particular multi-million dollar enterprise.

WBEN 930 : Buffalo Bills Assist County With Budget Crisis
Illuzzi reports that the Bills have "deferred" their $3,500,000 handout from Erie County.
WBEN says that the team has agreed to wait for some of the county money it is owed this year.
