A new car

Mary Kunz Goldman makes the case for consolidation. She cites Louisville, KY, which merged city and county governments two years ago into one Metro Louisville. I still think it's what Buffalo needs to do - a merger and a new form of government; NOT an abolition of the city in favor of county government only. A great quote in the piece from Kevin Gaughan:
"Say you have two old cars, and they break down a lot, and you have to pay maintenance and insurance on both," Gaughan reasoned. "What if you had one new car? One that was smaller and hipper?"
Bingo. Go read the whole piece. Ignore the first sentence's poor grammar.
