Tear down the Skyway

News has a good update on what's up with the Outer Harbor; specifically re-doing the links between downtown and the Outer Harbor. You can see it, but it's hard to get to. I think the key to developing the Erie Canal Terminus area, the Aud/Bass Pro & linking downtown with the Outer Harbor is to rip down the ugly, dangerous Skyway. It's a blight and a bother. Replace it with a lift bridge or drawbridge. Reconnect downtown to the waterfront, and extend Metro Rail down there, too. Kudos to Brian Higgins, the waterfront's biggest champion.
